 Preventive Health Practices Training (8-Hour EMSA-Approved Course)

This EMSA-approved Preventive Health and Safety Practices course fulfills 8 of the 16 required hours for individuals seeking licensure as child care providers or center-based child care staff in the state of California.

Course Format
This training is conducted live via Zoom and is instructor-led in real time.

Course Topics Include:

• Infection Control Policies and Procedures

• Immunization Laws and Recordkeeping

• Nutrition and the Child Care Food Program

• Injury Prevention

• Lead Poisoning Prevention

• Quality Care in Early Childhood

• Cultural Sensitivity in Child Care

• The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in Child Care

Important Course Requirements:

• Participants must attend the full 8-hour session to receive credit.

• Cameras must remain on throughout the entire course.

• The Preventive Health Practices certificate does not expire.

• A student workbook is provided and can be accessed via your course confirmation email, under the topic section.

This training is ideal for new and prospective child care providers, early childhood educators, daycare staff, and individuals applying for or renewing a California child care license.

Certificate Delivery
Your EMSA-approved certificate, including the official purple EMSA sticker, will be mailed to the address you provided during registration within 5 to 7 business days following successful course completion.
