                                                      Attention California respiratory therapists!

We have important news for you. Starting from January 1, 2024, there will be new continuing education requirements for California licensed respiratory care practitioners. You must stay updated and prepared for these changes to ensure compliance and maintain your licensure.                                                             

                                                             Continuing Education Requirements
                                                                          Effective January 1, 2024

The Respiratory Care Board of California (RCB) has adopted new continuing education (CE) requirements in line with its most recent workforce study and strategic plan. Currently, respiratory care practitioners (RCPs) must complete 30 hours of CE with two-thirds (20 hours) directly related to the clinical practice of respiratory care every renewal cycle. The new regulations still require 30 total hours of CE, but now provide new framework and format requirements.

New CE Format
A minimum of 15 of the 30 required CE hours must be earned from
live courses.

We now offer the approved Live CE course approved by the AARC. Classes will take place in person and live Zoom.  

Course Details:

- Each live course offered will have a duration of either 1 contact hour, 2 contact hours, or 3 contact hours. The specific contact hour allocation will be mentioned in the course description.
- If you plan to attend the continuing education session in person, the venue's address will be provided during the class registration process.
- For participants attending the course via Zoom, a Zoom link will be sent to you promptly upon completing your registration.
